We're not about building as many homes as possible. We're about building the right ones, properly. With more than 25 years of experience, Chameleon Homes specialises in custom homes, renovations and knock-down rebuilds across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter, bringing good people, quality workmanship and genuine attention to every build.
We don't build houses to a template. We build homes around the people who'll live in them.
At Chameleon Homes, we understand that a home should be an expression of your dreams and what you value most. Our team of experienced home builders proudly serve Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley — and we treat every project with the care, communication and craft it deserves.
Bathed in natural light, this home layers timeless textures and refined finishes to create a warm, effortless atmosphere.
From the crisp white shaker-style kitchen to the handcrafted herringbone floors, every space has been thoughtfully finished to balance everyday functionality with understated elegance. Soft tones and tactile surfaces in the bathrooms offer a calming retreat, while the living areas invite relaxed connection and comfort. It's a home that feels quietly luxurious, deeply personal, and beautifully ready for every chapter ahead.
I could not praise Gav and his team more. After having complications with our original builder, Chameleon Homes was recommended by our designer to complete all our loose ends. They did not disappoint- every job was completed quickly and to the best possible standard. If I could have gone back I would have hired them for my entire extension/ renovation. I highly recommend them for any project and will be reaching out again for our next one.

Working with Chameleon Homes on a complete renovation of my 3 bedroom, 2 storey home was a dream experience. From the moment I met Gav and Lauren, I knew I could trust them. They were incredibly helpful and collaborative when taking on board my very rough ideas and turning them into reality. Not once did I feel like we had to compromise on quality, even though the budget was tight. Their attention to detail made all the difference. We had a hard deadline to finish the project and it was met. I could not be more grateful to Chameleon Homes for the work they have done. The entire team were always on time, friendly and very respectful of my home. You'll be creating something special if you choose to work with them.

The team at Chameleon renovated the back of our 1914 cottage and built us our dream kitchen. The quality and craftsmanship of the work they did is second to none. Gav and the team were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They're creative problem solvers and so professional. It was honestly a joy to have them around, even the neighbours commented on how pleasant they were. Highly recommend Chameleon Homes and can't wait to work with them again in the future.

Scope of works: Demolition of small section of house, new extension, installed all new kitchen and laundry room, flooring and painting. From start to finish Gavin was up front, honest, available and just an all-round good person. He answered all my questions and listened to any concerns I had. His team, and 3rd party recommended vendors eg. Planner/draftsman, were always professional and personable which was very much appreciated as I lived in my house throughout the work. They worked extremely hard throughout the time, even with weather challenges such as high heat or torrential rain causing my backyard to become a mud field. While with all works there can be complications or issues that could affect the final product Gavin always ensured thorough understanding between he and myself to make sure the outcome was per my expectations. The end product exceeded my expectations, and no faults can be found in the quality of works. I would recommend Gavin and his whole team at Chameleon if you are considering any type of building or renovating.
